Reality Check!

Light the Park. Christmas. New Years. Activities. French lessons. Office training. Online training. Shots (15 and counting!) It has been a whirlwind! And now we are 34 days to the MTC. We have our flights booked for Kinshasa. 11 hours to Paris. 8 hours to Kinshasa. Does that tell you how far away we are going? The lasts of things are starting to hit us. REALITY CHECK!!!!

But not for one moment has there been a question of us going. I can remember asking my friend Judy as she was preparing to leave on her mission if she had any second thoughts. She said absolutely not. I couldn't imagine feeling that way. But here we are! We are 100% IN! We are excited. We are ready to go. We are ready to rip the bandaid off. We are NOT ready to say the goodbyes. Good friends, grandies, our kids, my parents, my sis & bro, Paul's sis & bro...... Just can't think about that part yet. It's going to happen and we will deal with the emotions of all of that as it comes.

The days are flying by and pretty soon we will be flying away! If anyone is wondering about serving a mission may I be bold enough to tell you to do it! The blessings we have already seen. The miracles we have already seen - our son and granddaughter being unscathed in a hit and run accident with a semi involved being one of them. I believe that you are also seeing your own miracles. We just have to look at the moments in our lives and they are there.

The Lord is so mindful of us at this time. He is also mindful of you and where you are in your lives. He loves each of His children. We couldn't feel more gratitude to Him.

We hope you stay tuned for more updates. We hit the MTC on Feb. 6th and fly to Kinshasa Feb. 20th. That feels like tomorrow!

Thank you for your comments on this blog. We appreciate your interest in all of this.

Nous aimons notre Pere celeste. Nous aimons Jesus Christ. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour son sacrifice expiatoire.

Au revoir!

Our apartment complex. The church built this 12 story building to house the mission offices, the mission president and his family, and us and ?? It's actually out of our mission boundaries as they couldn't find property that was in a good location so they built in the Kinshasa West Mission.
