On Friday we had the opportunity and privilege to meet Sister Claudine Isekusu Yasekalomanga. Sister Claudine is one of the earliest (if not the earliest) Congolese citizens to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was born in Kinshasa and joined the church in 1977 while attending boarding school in northern France. She has been active in the Church ever since, serving in a wide variety of callings. Recently she was appointed to be the Area Communications Director for the Church. Her assignment covers all of Central Africa encompassing 18 countries! She is an amazing lady and yet another example of the devotion, commitment and pioneering spirit among the Congolese people.
