Music really is a universal language. While we are both still working on learning French, Suzanne's musical abilities are already becoming well known in our ward. Not only was she asked to play piano for Sacrament meeting this past week, she has also been tapped to be the choir accompanist. They are preparing for their ward conference later this month.
We love listening to the Congolese sing! They are so joyous, singing with gusto and passion. And they sing in tune and quite loud! And we love it!
After Sacrament meeting this past week a family came up to Suzanne to discuss piano. While the mother did not speak English, one of her daughters spoke it very well. Long story short - Suzanne has her first piano student here! More to follow, and in the meantime, Paul will be working on arranging her first solo concert in Africa! (Is it too early for a Christmas concert?) :)
